First Confessions/2012

Let me start at the beginning of it all.... the very first time I suspected that my then three year old daughter had ADHD.

I was a stay-at-home-mom at the time, and didn't have a lot of interaction with other 3 year olds.

On the day it hit me, we did something we hadnt done before...

We attended church.

Surrounded by the other kids, I realized right away that there was something different about my daughter, I just didn't know what it was.

I had, of course, heard the terms ADHD and ADD before but never dreamed that it would be a part of my life. I never wanted to believe that my daughter would suffer with mental health issues. Especially at such a young and tender age.

I still didn't take her to a doctor, though it was recommended by my peers at church. I had heard what the medications could do to a kid, and I wasn't ready to dull her spirit just yet. Not until I had to for school. I didn't want to be the one to take away her spunk.

ADHD and Mental Health Awareness is the GOAL!
